ATI has developed a system of a remote hearing device that can be deployed in hostile environments to safely monitor the acoustic sound field with realistic reproduction. This audio telepresence device allows an individual to remotely listen to a potentially hostile acoustic environment as if actually present, but without exposing himself to the potential hazards.
The Digital Advantage
The system has an operational line of sight wireless range of 200 m. The systems effectively track head motion, accomplish equalization of the user dependent acoustic path, and deliver real time audio providing very realistic localization capabilities. Additional features include:
- Low and high noise operational modes (to monitor very quiet remote environments without audible system noise as opposed to monitoring very loud environments)
- Cost effective and real time directional synchronization between the user and the remote system for real time source localization
- Acoustic beamforming to provide improved directional hearing in real time
- Automatic sound pressure level calibration
- Sophisticated training mode with three dimensional visualization of user definable sources, and 3D placement of current
head direction, including file export and save
